Just like Twitter and Facebook, Google+ is the right platform for bloggers to promote their content. In fact Google Plus has quality audience which is beneficial for bloggers like us. Google Plus UI is more complicated than Facebook an Twitter, so I am going to tell you “How to Create a Google Plus Page for Your Blog”.
1. Pick a Category for Your Blog or Business.
Choose the right category for your business. You can choose from local business or place, product or brand, company, institution or organization, arts, entertainment or sports and other. If you are creating a page for your website or blog, choose “Product or Brand” and then choose “Websites”.
2. Add Basic Information
After choosing the correct category in step 1. Add basic information like name of your page, website for your business or blog. If you enter a website in this step, you will have to verify the ownership of the website later. Entering your website is not necessary, but if you have a website associated with your Google Plus page, it might help you getting more popular. Choose if your content is appropriate for “any Google Plus user”, “users 18 and older”, “users 21 and older” or content that is “alcohol related”. Read the “Pages Terms” carefully and if you agree to them, proceed to next step by checking the checkbox and clicking on Continue.
3. Customize Your Page
Customize your Google Plus page by adding suitable profile picture and cover photo. Try to create custom images for profile picture and cover photo relevant to your content. You can upload images from your computer or add images from your picasa gallery.
Tip: Use your blog’s logo as your page’s profile picture, it will help people identifying your brand on Google Plus.
4. Add More Information
Go to “About” tab on your page. Under “Story”, you can write those 10 words which describe your business best. Choose this keywords carefully as this is how people find your page and know about your business. Under “Introduction” add few descriptive lines about your business. You can write the same description as you have used on your blog.
Add some people to your circles, more people in your circles means more people will add you in their circles and this is the key to success in Google Plus. Add your contact information like your business address, email, phone number. Add some related pages to your links.
5. Post Useful Content
Start posting the content now, content must be related to your page. Google Plus community has quality audience, so quality content will definitely attract them.
